Privacy Policy

The privacy policy applies to personal information about the children in our care, their parents/legal guardians, their siblings, and other individuals who are involved in their care and upbringing (collectively, “the children in our care and their families”). Kiddie Den’s programs respect privacy and we have a longstanding commitment to protecting personal information of the children in our care and their families.

For the purposes of this policy, “personal information” is defined as any identifiable information about the children in our care and their families, such as contact details, health information, living arrangements, background information, the child’s personal characteristics and behaviour styles.

Personal information is only collected, used and disclosed by us in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

WHY DO WE COLLECT PERSONAL INFORMATION?

When enrolling your child/children in our child care program, as the parent or legal guardian, you are asked to provide certain pieces of information in order for us to provide you and your child / children with the best possible care. In addition to your contact details and the names and contact information of your family members, your child’s file may include the following information about your child:

  • Living arrangements.
  • Health information and special needs.
  • Personal characteristics, skills and behavioural information.
  • Incidents about the child as recorded by our staff.
  • Personal information is only collected for the following purpose

 

CCTV Policy

The purpose of installing CCTV cameras is to monitor the environment of the premises of Kiddie Den and to ensure a safe and secure haven for the children, staff and other occupants.

CCTV systems are installed (both internally and externally) in the premises for the purpose of enhancing the security of the building and its associated equipment as well as creating a mindfulness among the occupants.

CCTV surveillance at Kiddie Den is intended for the purposes of:
▪︎Protecting the school buildings and school assets, both during and after school hours.
▪︎Promoting the health and safety of staff, pupils and visitors;
▪︎Preventing bullying.
▪︎Reducing the incidence of crime and anti-social behaviour (including theft and vandalism).
▪︎Assisting in identifying, apprehending and prosecuting offenders.
▪︎Ensuring that the school rules are respected so that the school can be properly managed.

Information obtained through the CCTV system may only be released when authorised by the Principal after consultation with the Advisory Board members and the Management.

The use of CCTV cameras to control the perimeter of the school buildings for security purposes has been deemed to be justified by the board of management.

The system is intended to capture images of intruders or of individuals damaging property or removing goods without authorisation.

CCTV systems will not be used to monitor normal teacher/student classroom activity in school.

Access to the CCTV system and stored images will be restricted to authorised personnel only, i.e. Principal/Deputy Principal of school or other designated persons

Policy of access to Staff and Parents to view school CCTV:
On a daily basis NO access would be granted.
However in a situation of concern or worry,
Staff or Parent need to make a request to the management. They need do this in writing. Mentioning that they are requesting information held under data protection law.

The policy is constructed to maintain the vision and mission of the school philosophy. To have a happy and safe place for little ones.
